Manchester · Loft conversion
A sophisticated loft conversion of a semi-detached house, rebuilt on a new steel frame.
Lancaster Road began as a semi-detached property with a roof that couldn't support what our clients wanted. So we replaced it entirely: a new steel frame structure carrying fresh roof rafters, a slate-pitched roof to the front and flat rubber roofing to the rear.
The result is two homes, each with a master bedroom, an en suite bathroom and an evening room. The rear dormer is clad in premium zinc standing seam, and powder-coated aluminium windows and guttering give a sleek, durable finish.
It's the kind of project where the craft is mostly hidden — steel, structure and weatherproofing — and where getting it right is what lets the finished rooms feel effortless.
